Donna Lynn Jackson

Donna was born in Alice, Texas on February 15, 1953, to Donald W. Colvin and Margaret B. Colvin. She graduated from Alice High School, and Del Mar College with a degree in Education. She also attended Nursing School at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.

She taught at various schools throughout South Texas, and most recently taught at Oak Meadow Elementary in NEISD. Her true passion was teaching children, and she spent many years helping to prepare them for their life’s journey. She was loved by her students and fellow faculty members and was gratified to know that her guidance had been successful when many of her former students returned to tell her how much her encouragement and motivation had helped them succeed.

Donna is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jim Jackson, and sons Matthew Jackson (Ginger) of San Antonio and Lee Jackson of San Obispo, CA, her grandchildren Meigan Jine, James Jine, Josh Stevens, Katie Jackson, Scotty Jackson, and Hadley Jackson. She is also survived by her brother Richard Colvin (Velma) of Alice, TX.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Margaret Colvin, and her brother Daniel Colvin.

A Visitation will be held for Donna Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N. Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 6, at noon, also at Sunset North Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
