Donald Earl Riddle

Donald “Don” E. Riddle, 84 of Quincy, Illinois, was called home to be with our Lord on July 15, 2015. In 1948, Donald proudly joined the United States Air Force, serving our country for 21 years as an Air Traffic Controller. He also served in the Vietnam War, and is a Vietnam Veteran. In 1966, he met the love of his life Mary Lou Garza and married in 1967 in Laredo, Texas, he retired as a SMSGT from William AFB, Arizona in 1969. After military service, he went into FAA as an air traffic controller until 1988. Donald is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou Riddle, daughter Donna Wilson, son Thomas E. Riddle, brother Russell Riddle, grandchildren; Joseph Wilson, Christopher Malone, Aidan E. Riddle, and Samantha Riddle, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Roscoe and Eva Riddle and his sister Carolyn Meckes. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 with Rendering of Military Honors at 9:30 a.m., a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. and a Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 9883 Marbach Rd. In lieu of flowers, we are requesting that donations be made to American Heart Association or Alzheimer association in his honor.
