Donald Ray Allison, age 69, passed away November 13, 2010. He was born on April 25, 1941 in Abilene, TX. He retired from the U.S. Army as SFC “Super Sarge” after 21 years of service and had served in Okinawa, Germany, and many U.S. installations. He loved his family first and foremost, as well as classic cars, and motocross racing. He met and married his wife Dawn 48 years ago in San Antonio, TX.
Don Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Bell Zimmerman-Allison; father, Bobbie E. Allison; and sister, Patsy Darlene Allison
He is survived by his loving wife Dawn Allison; children, Donald Vance Allison & wife Lillian of San Leon, TX, Bella Marie Lavin of Elmendorf, TX, Edward Ray Allison & Angela Denise of Kingwood, TX; grandchildren, Christian Travis Lavin, Tyler Andrew Lavin, Destiny Gayle Allison, and Faith Dawn Allison; sister, Joyce Mason of Tyler, TX; brother, Bobbie Lee Allison of TN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 11a.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Service to be held at 12 noon.
