Dominga M. Ortiz

Our beloved mother Dominga M. Ortiz, age 92, was called home by our Lord on November 18, 2019. We thank God for allowing us the privilege and gift of keeping her so long. She was born in Luling, Tx on December 29, 1926.

She is the matriarch, soul, life and laughter of her family, we will miss her greatly. Her family and tons of friends will never forget her, she will live on in each of us each time we remember her and all the good times.

She is preceded in death by her son Genaro Ortiz, her husband Frank Ortiz, her mother “Ama” Andrea Alvarez, her granddaughter Tracy Ortiz, her grandson Frank Ortiz III, her sisters Faustina Rangel and Minnie Schmehl, and her brother Jacob “Buddy” Alvarez.

She is survived by her son Frank Ortiz Jr, daughter -in -law Jo Ann Ortiz, daughter Isabel M. Ortiz, daughter Virginia Ortiz Naukam, son- in -law Mark Naukam. Grandchildren Genaro and Jennifer Ortiz, Lori and Matthew McCaffety, and Frank and Vanessa Naukam. Great- grandchildren Ashley Ortiz, Frank Ortiz IV, Annie Vasquez, Genaro Ortiz Jr, Nicholas Ortiz, Shawn Ortiz, Kevin Rakoski, Ethan Naukam, Christian Naukam, Sara Naukam and Sidney Gonzales. And great- great -granddaughter Tracee Marie Ortiz, beginning of her 5th generation.

She is also survived by her sister Estefana and brother in law Louie Reyes, sister Juanita and brother- in -law Joe Medina, sisters Guadalupe Alvarez and Margaret Stein, sister- in- law Hilaria Ortiz, and numerous numbers and generations of nieces and nephews.

We pray she is resting with the angels and Jesus, fanning herself, drinking coffee and unlimited amounts of agua and eating cookies, and taking care of us like always.
