Delma Jean Neff

Delma Jean Neff, age 89, passed away March 24, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 22, 1928 in Abilene, Texas to Edward and Violet Crow Lockhart. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jimmie Leslie Neff Sr. She is survived by her children, Jimmie Neff Jr., Cecelia Crumpton, Jeanne Holt and Jon Neff, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Jean traveled extensively with her husband of nearly 70 years, a WWII veteran and Air Force warrant officer. She loved playing board games and hosting family gatherings for games and good food. A devout Christian, Jean was an imaginative and creative children’s Bible class teacher. She and Jim frequently hosted visiting evangelists in their home. Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. Jean Neff’s faith, giving nature, joy for life and flashing smile were an inspiration and great example to all who knew her. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Road on Saturday, April 14, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral service at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 AM Monday, April 16, 2018 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
