Delcio was known by his loved ones by Bito. He enjoyed going on long walks and loved to walk by the seashore seeking sea shells. He was very passionate and strong. Not only did he enjoy long conversations, traveling around the world, chocolate and wine but what he loved the most was drinking beer.
Delcio was an engineer in Agricultural Science with a masters degree in Biology .
In 1951 he was drafted to the Korean War becoming a sergeant, where he was wounded receiving the Purple Heart. He became the Regional Director for the Agricultural Department of the US, in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. He worked for many years as an Advisor to the Commands Military Preclearance Program to the US European Command. He also worked directly to keep the foot and mouth disease out of the US during the 2001 epidemic in Europe.
While Bito had many accomplishments, his biggest one was his family. His wife Elisa, his children Rafael and Grisel, his son in law Daniel, his grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Grace and Stephanie and his great-granddaughters Emma and Mia.
Security, shelter and lots of love were things he made sure his family had. While he may not be with us today, his generosity and kindness will live through an eternity. The knowledge he had and devotion to God has been instilled in many. His memory will live on forever. We will carry him in our hearts and we will await that joyful day where we will be reunited again.
