Deborah Rose Harper was born February 21, 1954 in Houston, TX to the parentage of Joseph and Hattie.
Deborah Rose accepted Christ at an early age and later became a faithful member of brookins A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles, CA under the pastoral guidance of Bishop T.L. Kirkland and Assistant Pastor Rev. Calvin Nelson. Upon here relocationshe remained a cheerful giver.
Debbie loved to travel. She grew up in Hallettsville, TX; graduated from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, CA; served in the U.S. Army in many states including Hawaii as a nurse; joined her Mother in San Antonio, TX to raise her children Mikel and Ebony as she attended Saint Phillips College for Design and Interior Decoration. Exhibiting great love for her family and expanding opportunities for her children, Debbie worked in San Pedro, CA and retired after 28 years of government service. When her oldest child became married, Debbie returned to help raise the love of her life, her grandson Nicholas Sanders.
Debbie's hobbies included basketball, swimming,gourmet cooking, hanging out with family, interior decorations, music and live concerts, reading political and romance novels, fashion and shopping. Debbie had an outgoing personality, loved hard, stood up for Christ like righteousness, and had a wildly keen sense of humor.
After a serious fall and long hard battle with a brain injury,Deborah Rose Harper departed this life on May 1, 2012. those that went before her and await her arrival in paradise are her Daddy Joe Harper, two brothers Elroy Miller Jr. and Cleo Williams, and her daughters father Steven Woods.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include: her Mother and Step-Father, Mr. & Mrs. Elroy Miller; son and daughter- in- law, Mr. & Mrs. Mikel Sanders; her daughter and beaux, Ebony Woods & Devin Johnson; her God-daughter Amber Fields; brother, Albert Caesar; sister and brother-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Booker Norwood; brother, Von Williams; sisters Peggy, Juanita, and Debra Fay Miller; along with several generations of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
