Deborah Garcia

Deborah Christina Garcia, 72, went to be with God on September 15, 2023. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Daniel and Maria Baigen on March 20, 1951. After graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1987, Deborah found her passion as a public school educator. She dedicated her career to helping kids find their passions and helping them succeed in life for more than 20 years before retiring. She is remembered for her warm and loving presence and her selfless acts as a parent.

Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Garcia Jr., her son, James Garcia, her sister Martha Rose Henry, and her parents, Daniel Phillip and Maria Baigen. She is survived by her brother, Daniel Francis Baigen, her two sons, Gilbert Michael and John Garcia, her daughter, Christina Sanchez, and her three grandchildren, Fyana and Jake Minter, and Julian Garcia.

The Garcia Family will welcome family and friends on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Recitation of The Holy Rosary will start at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday, September 26, the Requiem Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at San Fernando III
