David lived with us for a couple months after his mission. It was a tough time for him, trying to find a job and missing his mission life. Facebook was a new thing and I remember clearly sitting on the couch facing him, when he excitedly told me he had just gotten a message from a cute girl in Mexico. Our hearts are broken for that cute girl from Mexico and their 4 children. David was a devoted husband and father and will be terribly missed. 

His great smile. Pleasant demeanor. He had this joke about big Watson , little Watson . There two Watson  soldiers at one period of time. He would tease about the “ big”.  May his warm smile be always with you.

To the Watson family,

The lost of David is sad and will be missed.  I recall a talk from President Eyring that say “ Many are praying to Heavenly Father for relief, for help in carrying their burdens of grief, loneliness, and fear. Heavenly Father hears those prayers and understands their needs. He and His Beloved Son, the resurrected Jesus Christ, have promised help.“

David you will be missed.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, for society's loss. I did not know SSG Watson well.  He visited our department from time to time and was always so cheerful and helpful.  His smile lit up the entire room.  He never told us that he was ill.  I don't think any of us in the clinical trials group had any idea.  I guess that's the type of person he was; he lifted everyone else up and never shared his own struggles.  Thank you for sharing him with us.  I wish you heartfelt condolences during your time of grief.

My children spent a lot of time at the Watson household, and we have only the best things to say about David. The kids want you to know that he was “a really good dad” and that they always had the most fun with him playing games after school. Our thoughts and prayers are with Adriana and her beautiful children. We are thinking of David and his sweet soul will not be forgotten. I’m sending my deepest condolences to the extended Watson family.

David is my younger brother. Of all my favorite memories, I would say it was always his smile. 

A few other memories would be the time we thought he was lost as a toddler. We searched all over the house and town only to find he had crawled under the mini trampoline and fallen asleep. 

And, later, he had grown so fast that when I flew home from Basic Training and AIT, he was at the airport to pick me up. I didn't recognize him at all. He had grown so much in 6 months, he was nearly unrecognizable.

I will miss him terribly. He was a wonderful and devoted father. He was committed to his family and willing to do everything he could. He remains an example to me of humility and willingness to create joyful memories with his children. 

He endured many heartbreaks and struggles, but he never failed to maintain hope that he could make a difference in the lives of those he cared about most.
