David F. Leija

On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, Heaven gained another angel when husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at age 90. David Leija lived in San Antonio, TX with his late wife, Maria Elena Leija.

David was a quiet promoter of happiness. He worked hard to support his family which often made him a stern and serious man but behind his tough exterior was a loving person that wished for the health and happiness of those around him.

Many of his children remember listening to the stories of his childhood. A particularly heartwarming story was that he “would ride his bicycle past moms' house trying to impress her”. Maria and David married and started a family at a very young age.

David is survived by Daughters; Josefina, Rosa, Helen, Yolanda, Mirta, Jisela, Irma, Alma, and Elizabeth; Sons; Ricardo , Jose Luis, Jose Alonzo, Blas; 47 grandchildren and a growing number of great grandchildren. David leaves behind a large beautiful, loving & united family that wouldn’t have been possible without him. His legacy will continue & will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Rosary and Mass will be held on January 4, 2022 at St Joseph-Honey Creek Catholic Church followed by funeral services starting at 10:30am.. Address is: 25791 State Hwy 46 W, Spring Branch, TX
