David was born on December 16, 1963 in Las Cruces New Mexico to Russell Dale and Alberta Martha (Richards) Clark; he was the youngest of 8 children. David passed away on February 27, 2021 in San Antonio TX., after a fall in his home in Lytle, Texas.
David was preceded in death by his father Russell, his mother Alberta (Berta), his brother Robert Charles and his sister Eva Mayme Panella. David is survived by his wife Bonnie Clark, stepchildren Aaron and his wife Joanna and Matt and his wife Rachel, grandchildren Madison, Jackson, Reagan, Alice and Eilonwy; three sisters: Diane Fern Houser, Alta Arneta Clark both of Las Cruces NM, and Doris Delaine Seay of Waldron Arkansas and brothers: Joseph Dale Clark of, Independence MO and Edwin “Eddie” Raymond Clark of Las Cruces, NM, He had many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews in Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, and New Mexico. He also had many close friends he grew up with who were like family to him.
David grew up in Radium Springs, NM and went to school in Las Cruces, NM. David enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting and watching NASCAR, family and was an archery enthusiast. He enjoyed puttering around his 2.5-acre property and horseback riding. He was addicted to watching westerns when the TV was turned on.
David drove semi-trucks since he was 18, as an independent operator and long-haul driver until his health forced him to stop. He talked daily about his desire to return to driving and remained in contact and friends with many drivers he had worked with over the years. He had also been welder and a volunteer firefighter in Radium Springs, NM. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Services are to be scheduled for early summer in New Mexico. Final arrangements handled by
Sunset Northwest Funeral Home of San Antonio TX.
