Darrell Allen Danklefs passed away January 12, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Sinton, Texas to Wesley and Margaret Danklefs on December 25, 1954. Darrell was a loving father and grandfather that will be greatly missed. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Darrell played football for a number of semi-professional football leagues including the San Antonio Wings, Toros and Charros. He also coached for the Columbia Youth Football League for 20 years.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Wesley and Daniel Danklefs; and his son, Dustin Allen Danklefs. He is survived by his son, Robert Danklefs and his wife, Melanie; and his grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler, Skylar, Logan, Piper, and Jon Parker; and his beloved dog, Indy.
Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday, January 27th from 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 28th at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Columbia Football League.
