Daniel Richard Spiegel died on May 6, 2016. Born in Takoma Park, MD on January 22, 1963, he grew up in Maryland, Cincinnati and Wisconsin, which he especially loved for its ambiance and lovely terrain. He received his B.S. and M.S. from the U. of Wisconsin in Madison and his Ph.D. from the U. of California at Santa Barbara. He was a full professor of physics at Trinity U. and had a dearly loved 14-year-old son, Adam, who is a budding scientist. Adam’s mother is Rita Spiegel. Danny wrote many scientific articles for professional journals. He was an ardent fan of the Green Bay Packers and the San Antonio Spurs. Besides his son, Danny had a brother, Jonathan, and his father is Richard Spiegel, his mother Carol Berrett. God has taken Danny, for whom our love is eternal, into his beloved keeping and guardianship. Mass: 10 a.m. Friday June 3 at St. Brigid's: 6907 Kitchener St., San Antonio. Visitation: 6-9 p.m. on June 2, with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home: 6321 Bandera Rd., San Antonio. Donations can be given in his honor to Habitat for Humanity, where Danny volunteered regularly.
