Daniel R. Puente Sr.

Daniel R. Puente, Sr. passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria Elena Puente; children, Daniel and wife Julie, David, Dennis and wife Lucinda, Diego and wife Yolanda, and Don and his wife Lupita; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Alfonso and his wife Maria Louisa, Ernest and his wife Rosemary, sisters Patsy and her husband Simon Garcia, Estella and her husband Edwardo Devora, Elia Flores and by an aunt, Juanita Regalado. He is preceded in death by his parents, Epimenio and Maria de Jesus, and his brother Manuel. He worked at Dixie, Bexar, and Reliance Steel Companies as a steel fabricator for 30 years before becoming a rehab aide at HealthSouth and finally, a bus driver for Somerset ISD. He was very active in the community and was a parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church for over 50 years. He was president of St. Clare's CYO program for several years. He coached his sons, grandchildren and touched the lives of countless others. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7701 Somerset Rd, San Antonio, TX, 78211. He will be laid to rest at First Memorial Park Cemetery, 20567 Hwy 16, Von Ormy, TX 78073 following the service.
