He is survived by his wife, Maria M. Losoya and his four children, Fred Losoya (Robert G.), Daniel Losoya Jr. (wife Maria), Luis Losoya (Rhonda G.), Barbara Losoya (Robert D.). Four grandchildren, Nathan, Ariana, Ashlynn and Benecio. As well as his eight siblings and their families: the late Maria Santisima Losoya, the late Maria Oralia Chavera, Maria Luisa Ybarra, Adalberto Losoya Sr. (wife Yolanda), Adan Losoya Jr. (wife Roberta), Evangelina Petsche, Alfredo Losoya, Beatriz Arevalo (husband Adrian).
Daniel was born in Carrizo Springs, Texas on January 3, 1947. He married Maria Marta Chavarria on June 5, 1969. They settled in San Antonio, Texas in 1970 where they raised their family.
A career soldier Daniel enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 20 and served both active and reserve duty for a total of 32 years. He served one tour in Vietnam HHC 2nd Battalion, 13th Armor, 1st Armed Division, 25th Infantry. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and other awards after completing his tour in Vietnam. Daniel’s passion was always woodworking and painting. Later he got involved with a local veteran’s group and assisted many veterans with obtaining VA benefits. In 2003, Daniel and Maria joined St. Helena Catholic Church enabling him to become a 4th degree Knight.
During his down time, he loved to work on word puzzles, search the world-wide-web on his computer, and looked forward to entering our weekly family zoom calls for prayer.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care North Central Bexar and especially Arnold, who was his personal nurse for the past 9 years.
