I am so saddened to find this obituary for my old friend Danny. From time to time throughout the years I have looked for him online so that we could catch up. This is not what I expected to find.  Danny and I were good friends and ramp mates in Puryear Hall at Texas A&M University.  We were partners in crime throughout our time together there.  I often think of some of our crazy excursions, from midnight runs to Tyler in a borrowed car, late nights at the Dixie Chicken, shooting pool all night at the MSC, to camping by the many lakes in south central Texas. I was a groomsman in his first marriage ceremony.  So much fun. I remember staying up all night long together watching the same videos play over and over again the first night that MTV debuted on cable TV. As I recall there were a few beers that night!  He was living in Tyler at that time.  I saw him one last time in 1988 on a trip that I took from California back to College Station for a Midnight Yell and Aggie football game.  His son was just a little guy then.  I think of you often my friend and look forward to seeing you again when we meet up on the other side.  God Bless.

While I never had the pleasure of working with D.K. his pure and kind hearted existence was very known in our household. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person several times when my husband Daniel needed assistance with equipment or an evaluation back in the work from home TWC days. Your infectious smile is something that I will never forget. Thank you for spreading your wisdom, faith, and happiness to others continuously during your time here with us D.K. You clearly had a greater purpose and have been chosen to fulfill your heavenly duties but will be missed beyond words. Our most sincere condolences go out to D.K.’s family. I am very blessed to have known Daniel.  He had a very hearty laugh and always made me smile.  His love for Elizabeth and his kitties "Rascal" and "Sunshine" were often a major point of our conversations.  He will definitely be missed.  Rest well my friend.

What an amazing soul.....regardless of what was going on, I never saw you have a bad day.  Even in some of our "HUH??" moments, we found ways to make light of it and laugh about the situation. That is what I will always remember about you.  When I heard the news, I was so hurt....I wanted to cry but then the memories set in.....the jokes, the laughs, the good times at work. 

It was a blessing to have known you. While you are no longer here physically, I will carry the memories with me every single day. My condolences to your family....as I can only imagine what is missing from their every day life...may God be with you all and may you continue to shine on in the heavens above.....

DK my friend.... You truly were the living breathing representation of Jesus at our place of business.... I never saw a person represent the Father's heart so well to so many in a business setting.... You encouraged me to go farther but still always challenging me to keep my work life balance .... You were our biggest advocate and constant cheerleader.... You always took care of your team and still found time to pour life into and mentor others .... My breath was taken away when they gave me the news ..... But moments later I was crying tears of joy cause I knew you were on the other side of glory ..... Out of pain and still being our biggest cheerleader in the great cloud of witnesses .... I will never forget your words of wisdom on balance.... And putting family first ..... I will see you again my friend .... Just a Lil different than we planned ..... Although we cry here its cause we miss you, we are rejoicing that your pain is over and you are have graduated to your next journey .... Praying for your beautiful wife and family that His peace will bring them comfort in this time we love you and miss you friend! Rest in heaven 

D.K., You will be truly missed. I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with D.K. for many years with formally TWC and now Charter. His positive attitude and contagious smile is something I will always carry with me. Gone too soon yet never forgotten. D.K. was the true definition of a servant leader. His leadership and beautiful soul are some of the many things I will remember him by. He has touched so many and left a void in our hearts. Until we meet again. My deepest condolences and sympathy to his family and loved ones.

It truly breaks my heart that my brother is no longer with us.  I grew so close to D.K. within the few precious years I had the honor of spending time at work, and with his dear wife, Beth. My family and I  have fond memories at his home, in their swimming pool while sharing a lovely dinner with D.K. at the grill. I am so sorry not to have more opportunities to share good times with my brother D.K. , but will always cherish the ones God gave us together. Having lunch together at the park while at work and just enjoying nature and good conversation was priceless. I miss you dearly my brother, but will never, ever forget you! Working from home I stumbled across this extremely sad news. Daniel was my 1st supervisor with TWC. With all the constant changes having Daniel at your side paved a path you could follow. One of the best leaders I know to this day. He truly cared about us, you. He's with God now and it hurts that the lord took such a positive man away too soon. I will miss our chats outside and yes that smile and laugh he carried. Such a beautiful person, I will miss you Daniel. My condolences to the family, I'm so sorry for you loss.

San Antonio, and Spectrum has lost one of it's Best!! I had the pleasure of meeting Dan Through his wife Beth when invited to 
their lovely home. We, (The Diva's ) would enjoy good food, lively chats, vigorous debates, and planning for our upcoming cruise to Alaska.  Dan and Beth were instrumental in researching what was available for the different excursions, of course we felt we had to see it all.  We had a good time on that cruise, thanks to Dan and Beth.  Dan had a good time as well, he did check to ensure things were going well at Spectrum.  Dan was the best Barista for coffee, putting Starbucks to shame, they could not compete with Dan.  With his skills you definitely wanted seconds.  Dan had a Smile worth a million.  When he spoke and
smiled you did as well.  Just something about That Smile!!!  Rest in Peace my friend "The Diva's will miss you.  
For Beth my sincere condolences for the loss of your husband Dan.  Remember the "Footprints in the Sand"-- ----  For the Family, God Bless you, and in time the Smile does return.

I worked with DK at Spectrum and looked forward to his daily positive messages he sent out via email.   I think it says a lot about him for taking the time to inspire each of us daily.  My prayers are with his family.

First and foremost, I want to give all honor and praises to God for allowing me to cross paths with Daniel (DK) and I am forever grateful for his presence in my career with, formerly Time Warner Cable, now Charter Spectrum. DK was one of a kind and his soul was so pure. I cannot ever say there was a time when DK didn’t smile or bring a positive spirt to the office. DK always made his communication about YOU as a PERSON, not you as an employee. He understood and valued life, family and self-care. DK was the epitome of a wonderful leader; those who lead with genuineness & pride, one who took joy in what he did, one who gave transparency when they don’t even know that’s something you value with high regards, one who always showed appreciation and gratitude. We will definitely miss your presence, lovely smile, sense of humor and those amazing uplifting daily emails that gave motivation & inspiration during some of the most trying times that YOU had no absolute idea one was facing. Throughout the many years I’ve worked with you, you’ve NEVER once changed or made me feel uneasy. You’ve got me through some of my darkest moments just by lending an ear. Thank you for it ALL! 

My sincere prayers are with Beth, who he always spoke so highly of, his children who I know without a doubt he loved with everything inside of him, all of his close friends and coworkers whom he’s played a major in their advancement and achievements. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”


It was my first year working at then-Time Warner Cable on Christmas Eve. Daniel Kinney was a supervisor at the time who I’ve only seen walking around but never talked directly to. I had mentioned in our floor chat that my family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve and that it was going to be the first time I would miss it because I was scheduled to work until Midnight.

Well DK made sure that if VTO came out that I would be one of the first to get it. He didn’t know me, nor I him, but he understood the importance of family and because of him I got to celebrate with my family and for that I will always remember his kindness. I will miss his inspirational emails he would send out that I’m sure nobody required for him to do but did so anyway because that’s the kind of person he was.

DK was my hiring supervisor. He was always a light within our work environment and I’ll always remember him fondly for his smile and warmth. I’m so sorry for your loss. 

Our work together is how our paths met and I'm truly grateful they did. DK is someone that people would say had a genuine heart of gold. In every sense of what that means he was that person. DK brought an energy to every room he entered and shared that same energy with every single person there. His smile was so contagious and his positive attitude just made you feel comfortable. His words of wisdom quotes he shared everyday where always pushing us to think outside the box and continue to be positive no matter what is going on. He meant so much to so many and was truly love and admired.  Rest in peace DK you will forever be in our hearts 💕

DK has been a role model for how I want to live my life. He was a  kind, genuine, and gentle person who brought a sense of comfort and stability with him to work. He will be missed.

I am so, so sorry to learn of Daniel's passing. I have been lucky enough to have worked with DK for the past 5 years. I will greatly miss our chats about our cats, family, and life. The environment here won't be the same, he meant a great deal to a lot of people.  He was such a positive influence on so many employees.  He always took the time to get to know people. He was one of the most genuinely kind people I have ever met. 

I am so sorry for your loss, Beth. My heart goes out to you. I loved Dan like a brother and it’s heartbreaking that he’s gone. My condolences to the rest of the family. I am here for you.
