Bertha C. Casanova, age 91, was called home to be with her Lord, on January 24, 2021. Bertha was born in Floresville, Texas, to Elisa and Frank Castro, on June 1, 1929. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Elisa Castro; siblings Rudy Castro, Henry Castro, Reynaldo Castro, Elijio Castro, Arthur Castro, Frank Castro III and Alice Estrada. She is survived by her loving children: Jacqueline and spouse Ram Cano, Stephanie and spouse Reed Miller; grandchildren Alexandra D. Bodin, Sofia Casanova-Chavez, Desiree and Ramanda Cano; sister Norma Carvajal; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bertha was a life-long seamstress and derived great pleasure from providing care for her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Everyone loved “Aunt Bertha.”
A Rosary will be recited at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, Tx. with the Funeral Mass at 12:30 and interment immediately following at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Daniel G. Casanova, age 94, was called home to be with his Lord, on February 5, 2021. Daniel was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Jesus and Juanita Casanova, on December 25, 1926. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Juanita Casanova and brother Mike Casanova. He is survived by his loving children: Jacqueline and spouse Ram Cano, Stephanie and spouse Reed Miller; grandchildren Alexandra D. Bodin, Sofia Casanova-Chavez, Desiree and Ramanda Cano; brothers Sam Casanova, Jesse Casanova, Rev. Mr. Ismael Casanova; sister Rachel Casanova-Boes; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Daniel was a Veteran of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and was a proud Army Retiree. Everyone loved “Uncle Dan.”
Viewing will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in San Antonio, Tx, with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:15 pm.
Together Daniel and Bertha shared 57 years of marriage and died twelve days apart from each other due to complications with COVID19.
