He had a 26 year career in the Army beginning in Vietnam. When drafted he was older than the others so they called him Pops! He spent most of his career overseas – Vietnam, Japan, Germany, Okinawa – with repeated tours to all.
After 26 years in the military, primarily as a telecommunications security specialist, he retired as a CW3. He went on to work 10 more years as a government employee specializing in information security. He retired to good in 2010.
Tom loved to travel, to cook great meals, and drink good wine. He took up art when he retired and shared his work with family and friends. He especially loved his family, his dog, and his Porsche.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn, his brother, Robert, his sister, Sue, nephews and their families.
Here's to Tom driving his new Porsche on the racetrack in the sky!
