Consuelo G. Lopez

Catalina Consuelo “Chelo” Gonzalez Lopez, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and Tea Rose florist, went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 31, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jose Lopez, Jr., her mother, Dolores Casablanca, and her sister, Elva Villarreal. She is survived by her sons, Jose Lopez III (Abelina), Hector Lopez (Carmen), and Robert Lopez (Letty); daughter, Norma Evenski (Stephen); daughter-in-law, Suzan P. Lopez; ten grandchildren, Jessica Montalvo, Jonathan Michael Lopez (Jennifer), Hector Rene Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Rebecca Lopez, Lauren Evenski-Blake (Taylor), Bret Evenski (Brenda), Christopher Lopez, Justin Lopez (Roxanne), and Hector Lopez, Jr.; great-grandchildren Justin Lopez, Jr., Emery Lopez, Lea Lopez, and Jonathan Landon Lopez, Jr.; and sisters Janie Mendoza, Norma Lopez, Grace Hamm, and Thelma Elizondo.

The family will receive loved ones on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a viewing at 5:00 PM and for a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Chapel Service will occur on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers at 8:30 AM, followed by interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels San Antonio.

The family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt thank you to the Mission Trail Baptist Hospital, including Dr. Pamela Masella and Dr. Eleazar Quintanilla, and the ICU staff, Mike, Andrew, and Jean; to Chelo’s loving neighbors of 30+ years, Betty and Rick Lopez; and to Chelo’s caregivers, Carmen, Miriam, and Teresa.

She will be sorely missed by all who love and know her.
