Clifford D. Harris, 85, passed away November 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Tx. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed. He was born on November 10, 1935 in Denton, Nebraska to Walter and Grace Harris. He was the eighth of nine children, with 3 brothers and 5 sisters. He moved to Simi Valley, California at the age of 14 where he graduated high school. He then joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Medina AFB in San Antonio, Tx. It was there that he met the love of his life, Emma Faye Nitsche. They were married in San Antonio on May 24, 1958. During their over 54 years of marriage, they had 3 children, Ronnie Joe, Annette Faye and Dianna Lyne. After Ronnie was born in San Antonio, they moved to Simi Valley, CA. The family resided there until June of 1968, when they moved back to San Antonio, Texas. Cliff went to work for Montgomery Ward in 1968, starting as a truck driver and advanced all the way to Distribution Center Warehouse Manager. He also worked part time as a softball umpire and VIA bus driver. Once he retired, Emma joined him. They then started their “second” life together, working for KOA and traveling in their motor home from coast to coast. They both enjoyed playing slots at the casinos and going to Nascar races during their travels. They spent time in Branson, MO and Sturgis SD but they especially enjoyed their times working at the KOA in Las Vegas.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife Emma, daughter Annette and granddaughter Kelly.
He is survived by his son Ronnie Harris, daughter Dianna Stricker, son-in-law Dwaine Stricker, grandson DJ Stricker and wife Kristie, grandson John Stricker, granddaughter Lily Stricker and great granddaughter Alexandra Stricker, great grandson Dwaine Stricker III, grandson Chris Anderson and wife Courtney, great granddaughters Rowan and Aria Anderson, sister Sarah Pulte, brother Gene Harris and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Visitation will be 4-7pm, Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 3 pm, Monday, December 7, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
