Clifford was born on June 15, 1944, in Austin, TX, to William and Claudia Ball. He attended Austin High School, where he met his wife, Nora Ann Cain, and they were married on December 15, 1962. They had two children, Darrell and Kimberly Ball.
Clifford entered the Army in 1966 and served in the Vietnam War. After leaving active duty, Clifford continued his military service in the Texas Army National Guard until his separation in 1981.
In 1973, Clifford received his Master Plumbers license and opened Ball Plumbing Company with his wife, Nora. Ball Plumbing served Austin and surrounding areas for 37 years until they retired in 2010.
Clifford was preceded in death by his father, William Ball; mother, Claudia Ball; sister, Billie Jo Lenderman; and brother, Richard Ball. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nora Ball; son, Darrell Ball and wife, Lisa; daughter, Kimberly Poll and husband, Frank; granddaughter, Jessica Robotham and husband, Scott; grandsons, Caelen and Braden Ball; brothers-in-law, Rudy Cain and wife, Sharon; Martin Cain and wife, Carroll, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Clifford was a strong man with a laugh and zest for life that touched everyone he met. He worked hard to provide for his family and loved tending to his cows and horses with his best canine pal, Bill at his ranch in Elgin. He was loved dearly and will be missed.
Visitation for Clifford will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home. On Thursday, January 13, 2022, Clifford will be laid to rest with a burial service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at 9:15 AM.
