It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Clara Leedy Shovlin, who departed from this world on August 26, 2023. She was a remarkable woman, a loving mother, a caring friend, and a pillar of strength to all who knew her.
Born in February 1926, Clara Leedy Shovlin was a beacon of kindness and compassion. Her gentle soul and unwavering love enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. As a devoted mother, she dedicated herself to nurturing her family and creating a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter.
Clara Leedy Shovlin was an extraordinary woman of many talents. She was passionate about music, art, and travel. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious. Her zest for learning and her ability to find joy in the simplest of moments were traits admired by all.
Throughout her life, she embraced challenges with resilience and grace. She was a source of comfort and wisdom, offering guidance and support during both joyous and difficult times. Her legacy of love, wisdom and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Clara Leedy Shovlin was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, and Clara Leedy; first husband, Grant H. Weidman; and second husband, Hugh P. Shovlin; sons Joseph Shovlin and Pat Shovlin. She is survived by her daughters Samantha McCall, Christin Weidman Ellis, and Victoria Cox; son, Michael Shovlin; sister Mary C. Vehle; granddaughters, Sarah Cox and Julia Shovlin; grandsons, Taliesin McCall, Grant Ellis, Dane Ellis, Matthew Shovlin and Patrick Cox. All of whom will forever cherish the memories and the love she bestowed upon them. Her impact on the lives of her family and friends will be a lasting testament to the beautiful soul she was.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the memories we shared, the love we were blessed to receive and the lessons she imparted. May we honor her memory by embodying the virtues of love, kindness, and resilience that she displayed throughout her life.
