Clara Coleman

Clara was born June 2, 1918 to Robert and Rosie (Kuss) Schulze in Hermleigh, Texas. She graduated from Hermleigh ISD, Hermleigh, Texas and Draughon’s Business College, Abilene, Texas. Clara married J.D. Coleman on December 31, 1939, in Sweetwater, Texas. She worked for the civil service as a secretary at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas; Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. and Bergstrom Air Force Base, Austin, Texas. Clara’s greatest love was her family, to whom she unselfishly devoted her time and energy. She enjoyed family functions, where her enjoyment of cooking, her beautifully set tables were impeccable. Clara’s love will be remembered and cherished. As a devout Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, New Braunfels, Texas.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, J. D. Coleman and four sisters, Emma Wimmer, Minnie Darden, Annie Pieper and Lilly Mae Jones.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Coleman of New Braunfels, TX; son Jeffery Coleman and wife Tricia of Schertz, TX; step-granddaughters, Beth Boulton and Crissy Wellborn and their children, and sister-in-law, Joan Coleman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 A.M., Monday, October 2, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
