

Charles Beverly Thompson passed away on August 31, 2016. He was born in 1925 in El Paso, Texas. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dorothy and Milton Thompson and nephew, David Nay Thompson. He is survived by his brother, Mickey Nay Thompson in Lake Kiowa, Texas and by his niece, Vickie Cooper and her husband, Paul and their daughters, Ashley and Rachel in Tyler, Texas, also a number of dear cousins.
Charles served his country in World War II with the 29th Engineer Photomapping Battalion in Portland, Oregon and Manila in the Philippines. He also served during the Korean War. He studied at the San Antonio Art Institute and also at Feather & Feather School of Design in Houston. He and his business partner, Bob Garman, would later open a unique shop entitled ACCENTS involving 34 years where many loyal customers became good friends. In his later years he was employed by the McNay Art Museum working in the museum library where he enjoyed being surrounded by books.
A Memorial Service will take place at Sunset Memorial Park on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Roy "Pat" Bell officiating.
