Charles J. Parra, 91, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014. He was born in Larose, LA on May 24, 1923 to Edward and Gertrude Morillion Parra. He enlisted in the US Navy during World War II and became a Seabee and also assisted with road construction in the Philippines. Most recently, Mr. Parra was a well-known and respected MIC agent.
He is survived by his wife, Fredarica Parra; children, James R. Parra and wife Iris Lynn, Charles David Parra, Edward Joseph Parra; grandchildren, April Elizabeth Lumiel, Nicholas James Parra, Celeste Marie Soheylee-Arasi, Lauren Claire Parra; great granddaughter, Rhiannon Lumiel.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov, 5, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. The interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
