Charles Louis Lockett, age 61, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011. He was born in El Paso, Texas, on May 20, 1949. He was a graduate of Alamo Heights High School, received his undergraduate degree in zoology at the University of Texas at Austin and his master’s in aquatic biology at Southwest Texas State University. His passion about caring for others was evidenced through his career as a biochemist for a public water utility, his involvement in professional organizations centered around protecting public health, his volunteer work at the SAMM shelter, and most importantly, through his love of his children. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Janeen Lockett; daughter, Alissa Lockett; son, William Lockett; brother, Bill Lockett and wife Nikki; nieces, Laura and Leslie; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Lockett and mother, Lucy Lockett.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, February 18th at Sunset Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Saturday, February 19th at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Reverend Richard Knott will officiate.
