Charles Allan "Kelly" Clark

Charles Allan “Kelly” Clark, beloved Husband and Father, passed away May 29, 2017. Kelly was the youngest of eight surviving children born to Dewey and Josie Mae Clark on April 1, 1933 in Freeport, Illinois. Kelly proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. After honorable discharge from the Marines, Kelly attended Oregon Tech on the G.I. Bill. Upon graduation, Kelly accompanied his good friend and college roommate (Del Hill) to Sisterdale, Texas.

In moving to Texas, Kelly met and married the love of his life in San Antonio, Texas; Pauline Rose Zuercher in 1959. Kelly and Pauline raised two (2) sons; Daniel Scott Clark (Dan) and Timothy Michael Clark (Tim). Pauline and Kelly were founding parishioners of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Many subsequent years were spent being active in parish life with Kelly helping to build St. Thomas More’s CYO baseball fields and sports complex. Additionally, Kelly coached CYO baseball for many seasons.

Kelly retired from a thirty plus (30+) year career at City Public Service Board of San Antonio. In retirement, Pauline and Kelly enjoyed watching their grandchildren grow up, gathering with old friends and searching out and trying new restaurants. Kelly and Pauline were blessed with fifty-four (54) years of marriage. Upon Pauline’s passing in May of 2014, Kelly moved into The Waterford Retirement Community. Ironically, Kelly was reunited with his college roommate (Del Hill) when he and his wife moved in as well. Kelly met and made wonderful friends; both staff and fellow residents while living at The Waterford.

Kelly passed away surrounded by family and now enjoys HIS everlasting grace beside Pauline and amongst his family and friends that passed before him. Kelly’s family would like to thank all of his friends, especially those at The Waterford, for sharing their abundant love and friendship with him.

Kelly was preceded in life by his Wife (Pauline), Mother (Josie Mae), Father (Dewey), Stepmother (Marian), Brothers (Stanley, George, Paul, Ernest and Dewey) and Sister (Pauline Dreibelbeis). Kelly is survived by his Sister (Sue Dieterman), Sons Dan and Wife Jocelyn, Tim and Wife Tina, Grandchildren Heather Laurel Duncan, Matthew Allan Clark, Emily Rose Clark and Elton Edward Clark, Brother-In-Law Robert Dreibelbeis, Sister-In-Law Ute Clark, numerous Nieces and Nephews, extended Family and Friends.
