Carola Joseph Gaddis

Carola Joseph Gaddis passed from this life on June 9th, 2016. She was born on December 31st, 1937, to Harry and Helen Lewis Joseph. Carola attended the Austin Public Schools and, before attending the University of Texas at Austin, spent one year at the Stevens School in St. Louis, MO. Carola graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1959. She married Gary D. Howard and they had two sons, Gary " Corky " D. Howard Jr., and Timothy J. Howard. In 1982 Carola married John Marshall Gaddis and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage together until her passing. Before coming to San Antonio from Waco, Carola taught school for several years and was a substitute teacher in San Antonio. As a member of the San Antonio chapter of the Junior Forum, Carola served as President for one year and as 3rd Vice President for two. She continued membership as a sustaining member. She was honored as a Junior Forum Woman of the Year and, with Junior Forum, volunteered for the American Cancer Society.

Carola is survived by her husband John, sons Gary and Timothy and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Gary, Jordan, Harris, Hudson and Hayden.

Rosary will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday, June 16th, at 7:00 PM.

Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, June 17th at 10:00 AM.

Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35, Austin, Texas, on Friday, June 17th, at 3:00 PM.

Memorials may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
