Carmen Manuela Gonzalez Saenz, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, entered rest on April 14, 2014 at the age of 75. She was born in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico to Francisco Gonzalez and Martina Davilaon June 27, 1938. Carmen was an independent woman who loved God, family, friends and life. She was an avid member of St. John Berchmans through the Spanish Choir and the Cursillistas attending the Ultreya gatherings. Further, she was a member of the Good Samaritan Senior Center participating in arts and crafts, sewing, and the occasional trip to the casinos. She will be remembered for her joyous nature, her smile and laugh, her cooking and cakes, and her independent will. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Teodulo M. Saenz; sister, Isidora Gonzalez Davila, brothers, Jesus Gonzalez Davila, and Francisco Javier Gonzalez Davila. She is survived by son, Manuel F. Saenz and wife Hilda B. Gonzalez-Saenz; granddaughter, Briana E. Saenz; grandson, Manuel G. Saenz; stepdaughter, Susan Saenz-Solis and husband Fred; brother, Pablo Gonzalez Davila and wife Irma Leticia Perales Garza; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends at 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 to celebrate a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church.
