Carmen Quintana Delgado Guzman entered eternal rest on Feb. 16, 2023. She was born on April 24, 1920 in San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred C. Guzman, her parents, Casimira Flores Quintana Delgado and Jesus Brozzig Delgado, Gilbert Guzman (son), David Guzman (grandson), Ginger Ann Cancino (granddaughter), her siblings Beatrice D. Deosdade, Antonio Delgado, Nora D. Felan, Carrie D. Gallardo, and niece JoAnn Deosdade.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Moran (Oscar), Alfred Guzman, David Guzman (Rosie), Carmen G. Cancino (Paul), Penny Barboza (Vic), Kathryn Guzman, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
She was a descendant of the "Canary Islanders", a descendant of Rafael Quintana of Mahon, Minorca, Balearic Islands, Spain, one of the early settlers of both San Antonio and Von Ormy, TX, and a descendant of Antonia Munoz De Flores, known as "la Tlaxcalteca", born in 1824 in Mission Nadadores, Coahuila, Mexico. Her family has been recognized in the San Antonio Genealogical and Historic Society and her ancestors are included in the Bexar County Archives and the Texas Heritage Project.
She attended Collins Garden Elementary, Harris Jr. High, and Brackenridge High School. She was a Charter Member of the League of United Latin American Citizens, LULAC Council 4421, and enjoyed traveling to such places as Las Vegas, NV, New York, NY, Miami, FL, Lansing, MI, Albuquerque, NM, and Pasadena, CA. She loved going on cruises.
Mom raised seven children and volunteered her time as President of the PTA at Storm Elementary, the Thanksgiving Feast for the community, and the Easter Festival held at Avenida Guadalupe. She always thought of others before herself and was a generous, gracious, loving, witty person, and had a great sense of humor. Mom was known as Tía, Grandma, Momo, Grammy, and in recent years as Golden Car.
She is rejoicing with the angels, dancing and singing. We love you Mom and you forever will remain in our hearts.

To reach Roy Akers Funeral Home, due to the construction you must enter off of Flores Street. A visitation for Carmen will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 5:30 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with burial following at San Fernando #2 Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
The Rosary and Chapel Service will be live streamed through Roy Akers Facebook Page. The video feed will be posted 5-10 minutes before the services begin.
