Brad Young was received into God’s hands January 19, 2019. Survived by his loving wife Michelle and their three beautiful children Caleb, Maia and Taj. He is also survived by his mother Marilyn and brother Jeff. Brad was preceded in death by his father Lee and grandparents Ella and Clayton Young and Opal and Glenn Rothfuss.
Brad enjoyed working with SWBC for more than 25 years, and had more than 35 years of related insurance, underwriting, operations, and marketing expertise. As Executive Vice President of AutoPilot Services for SWBC’s Financial Institution Group, Brad managed and consulted on all aspects of SWBC’s suite of risk and account management services, including collections, payments, collateral and mortgage insurance protection, and related service operations. He also served as CEO of SWBC’s Risk Management division from 2001 to 2007. He was a key team member and innovator of much of the technology used by SWBC’s financial institutions’ clients today. Brad began his career in California with Balboa Life and Casualty serving as an Underwriting and Actuarial Services Manager. Prior to joining the SWBC team, he was President of COTRAK® Insurance Services
Brad graduated from Illinois College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Business Administration. He was a member of the Pi Pi Rho Literary Society and also played basketball for the Blueboys. He received an Executive Certificate from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
Brad was a member of the San Antonio Sports board of directors for 17 years and served as its
chairman for the last two. He was tireless in his passionate advocacy for San Antonio Sports’
youth programs. He served as a member and advisor to the board of San Antonio Parks and Recreation for more than 20 years. He was also a board member of the Alamo Heights Little League.
Brad’s passion were his wife and children. The family kindly requests donations made in Brad’s name, to www.sanantoniosports.org in lieu of flowers.
