Upon graduating high school in 1963, Bobby enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably for 24 years. Most of his tours were overseas where he met and married the love of his life, Irene. Always by his side, they recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. After leaving the Air Force, Bobby earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio as well as a teaching certificate from the state of Texas. With his degree and certificate in hand, he began his second career as a teacher at Sky Harbor Elementary School where he taught special education for 13 years. Once retired, Bobby and Irene cruised the world on many different excursions along with some of their closest family and friends.
Bobby will be remembered for his immense love of family, his compassion and kindness towards others, and the many great friendships he made along the way.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irene Price; son, Richard Price; daughter, Donna Horine; grandchildren, Kassidy Beck, Brandon Drutar, Richard Price Jr. and Stephen Price; brothers, Norval Rhodes, Edward Rhodes, Anthony Rhodes, Emmett Rhodes; sisters, Charlene Pender, and Darlene Rhodes.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 20, 2021 with a funeral service at 11:30 A.M. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera road, San Antonio, Texas 78238. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Air Force military honors.
