

On December 14, 2016 at the age of 64, Billy Joe ‘JB’ Tijerina Sr. entered into the peace of eternal rest. He was born April 21, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas and attended South San High School. He was employed as a Plumber with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 142 for over 20 years.
He will be remembered by all for his heart of gold and witty jokes. He enjoyed playing pool, darts and bowling. JB certainly lived his life to the fullest and there was never a dull moment in his presence.
JB is survived by his wife, Julie M. Tijerina; children, Sonya Tijerina Alonzo (Thomas), Billy Joe Tijerina Jr. (Rochelle), Caesar William Tijerina, Val Luna (Cindy), June Sepulveda, Jacob Vasquez and 14 grandchildren. He also leaves behind his mother Maria Cruz Castillo (Robert); brothers, Robert Castillo Jr. (Bernice), Mark A. Castillo (Sharon); sisters Belinda Suarez (Mario) and Laura Castillo along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who love and will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father Cosme H. Tijerina (Mary) and his grandmother Isabel G. Alvarado.
The Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 20, 2016 from at 5:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home located on 2525 Palo Alto Road with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart the funeral home on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on New Laredo Highway. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park in Von Ormy, Texas.
