Betty Jean Medlar, age 80, of San Antonio, Texas died October 29, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bob, son Gene, Mother Gwen, and brother Lew. Betty and Bob traveled extensively throughout the US and Mexico as professional rare coin and currency dealers. She was the American Numismatic Association's "Great Lady" in 1981, and was the unofficial "good will ambassador" for the family business, Medlar's, Inc. A professional vocalist at an early age, she was deeply involved in the Alamo Heights UMC choir. A very loving, considerate, and caring lady with high principles no doubt formed by her deep Christian values, she was a wonderful role model for her family and her many friends. She is survived by her brother, Bill Pierce and wife Virginia, son Stan, granddaughters Kristan DelGreco and husband David, Morgan Medlar, and great-grandsons, Jackson and Carter DelGreco. Betty was indeed a Great Lady, and will be dearly missed.
