Betty Davis was born in Courtland Alabama on March 31st, 1927. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Willard Davis, mother Dessie Mae Schoppe and father Julian Harvey Blaxton as well as sisters Elizabeth Kelsoe, Lennie Jeffreys, Sue Fuller and brothers Robert and Julian Blaxton and one grandchild, Bart Vernon.
She is survived by son, Doug Davis and daughters, Carol Stora, Pat Vernon, Linda McWilliams, Brenda Elliott and husband Joel, and Elaine Garcia. Her grandchildren Brett Stora, Lisa Quinones, Dawn Grissom and her husband, Edgar Perez, Brett Vernon, Heather McWilliams, Teresa McWilliams, Sean Deats and his wife, Marie, Dale Garcia, Derrick Davis and his wife, Megan, Stephanie Derieux, and Joel Elliott, Jr. Great grandchildren include Josh Pallesen, Daniel Quinones, Mariah McDonald, Tarron Sellers, Courtney Coffman, Megan Morgan, Cynthia Perez, Alondra Perez, Hannah, Haley and Hunter Deats, Maya Garcia, Chandler Derieux, Dallas Elliott and Sherra McWilliams. She also has one surviving sister, Robbie Klein as well as numerous great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many she loved and considered her family.
She was loved by all who knew her. She had a heart of gold and helped any and all who needed it. She was a loving mother who knew no limits on what she would do for her children. She was witty, funny, happy and most of all loving toward all. Her laugh was contagious and could be heard a mile away! She was always ready for a joke and appreciated humor. She was also a very sentimental person who cried easily but was also very strong and determined to accomplish anything she set her mind to. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 15th from 6-9 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The Graveside Service will be on Thursday, November 16th at 9:00 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
