Betty was born in Eagle Lake, Texas, September 9th, 1942, where she spent her childhood years, to Tomasa Sosa and Philip Soto. She relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where she attended Burbank High School.
If you knew Betty in later years, you would know she was a fan of the famous cartoon character Betty Boop! Her grandfather used to call her “Betty Boo” when she was a child and the character always reminded her of his love. Betty suffered from diabetes later in life but fought the good fight so she could be with those she loved dearly. She wanted to make sure that everyone knew how much her husband Juan, of 38 years, meant to her. He really lived to his commitments in sickness and in health and went above and beyond her expectations. She placed her hand over her heart when she told me I needed to say this in the obituary. Of course, she loved all her children, but she also wanted to say a special thank you to her oldest and first son, Antonio (Tony). She was thankful to have you by her side her whole life! Betty also expressed her thanks for the friendships she made and the care she received at the dialysis center for the last 12 years.
Of course, she wants you to remember her as she once enjoyed life and family. Some of her favorite past-times included bowling, baseball (catcher), fishing, flea- markets, birthdays, and of course holidays.
Betty is survived by her husband, Juan Campos; her brother, Robert; half-sister, Rochelle; half-brother, Stevie; and half-sister, Melissa. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Danny, Philip Jr and David;
Five children from her first marriage: Tony, Linda (deceased), Laura, Enrique and Narciso; 8 Grandchildren: Saren, Alicia, Valerie, Mary, Amelia, Henry, Narciso III, and Savanna; 5 Great-Grandchildren: Layla, Aaron, Ethan, Timothy, and Adalina; 6 children (step) from her second marriage: Carla, Kathy, Karen, Kristina, Carlos and Sharon; 10 Grandchildren: Richard III, Christian, Diamond, Asher, Anna, Adam, Alexa, Ava, Gyselle, and Elyse; 5 Great-Grandchildren: Juliet, Julian, Julio, Azalea, and Benji; as well as numerous extended relatives and friends.
