Beth Anne (Tolle) Gulick entered into her eternal home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at age 86. Beth Anne was born on December 12, 1935 to Raymond and Ruby Dixon Tolle in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from Brackenridge High School, San Antonio,TX in 1953 and Howard Payne University, Brownwood, TX in 1962 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education and English. Over the course of 56 years as an educator, Beth Anne was known to have taught multiple generations within the same family. Beth Anne was a gifted teacher and instilled her love of reading and learning to the countless students she taught. She was a known encourager to her students, a loving disciplinarian who held high achievable expectations in her classroom as well as in her home.
In her classroom, students were treated fairly, knew they were loved, and were inspired to rise to their full potential. Beth Anne was a favorite teacher to many students and her peers. She had an incredible work ethic when it came to her students. Her classroom exemplified orderliness and a warm, inviting place to learn. She spent countless hours decorating her classroom and preparing lessons for her students. In 2001, Beth Anne was named "Sam's Club Teacher of the Year“ and in 2002, “State Teacher of the Year” for Southwest Independent School District.
Anyone who knew Beth Anne, knew she was a beautiful, loving woman full of grace. That grace was found at the young age of 6 when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her entire life exemplified her love and obedience to our Lord. She played the organ for her church home, taught Sunday School, as well as singing solos during services, weddings, and funerals. Beth Anne also led Chapel services in Christian schools where she taught, and all the while taking care of her mother, grandmother and children. She exuded the same Godly values and gracious character by creating a warm, safe home environment where all her children could strive and grow into their God-given purposes.
Beth Anne married her “church nursery sweetheart,” Jack W. Gulick at Lakeview Baptist Church, San Antonio, TX on July 27, 1956. Together they were blessed with four children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
In retirement, Beth Anne enjoyed traveling with her family, and spending numerous hours landscaping and gardening with her infamous “green thumb.” Her love of dishes and decorating could be seen every month with her creative, thematic designs throughout her home. Her ultimate fun was the thrift store hunting with Jack and the girls.
