Bennie Cecil Estes, 83, passed away January 28, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Selma Texas. He was born to William Estes and Jewel Estes Owen on April 13, 1927 in Rockwood Texas. He was a career soldier and Vietnam veteran. Ben married Helen Bust on January 11, 1948. During their service to their country they traveled the world until retiring in San Antonio, Texas. After retiring from military service, Ben began a second career as a master carpenter for Southwest Research Institute. He is survived by his sister, Billie Ruth Van Huss, his children and their spouses, Elizabeth (Betty) and Tom Stewart, Patricia J. and Red Cossel, and Richard and Terri Estes, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Tuesday February 1, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park at 12:30 on Wednesday February 2, 2011 with burial following at Fort Sam Houston.
