Barbara O'Berg Traugott

She was married to her husband, Patrick Traugott for 59 years, when Pat passed away. She is survived by her 10 children; Patsy Hodge (spouse Robert), Chris Traugott (spouse Beverly), Jody Brown (spouse Grady), Michael Traugott, Laura Gates (spouse Burnell), Pam Hester, Sharon Waite (spouse Hunter), Paula Miller, David Traugott (spouse Liz) and Patrick Traugott Jr (spouse Audra).

Also, she is survived by 29 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Oma”.

Barbara was a joyful woman filled with Love and Faith in God. She shared her Faith with everyone. She taught Religious Education in her Catholic parishes for many years. She was a member of the following parishes in her life; St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, St. Gerard Catholic Church, St. Jerome Catholic Church and the last few years - The Village of Incarnate Word Chapel. She prayed every day.

Barbara was involved in local politics, serving as president of the Highland Park Neighborhood Association for many years and as a Bexar County Election Judge. She also belonged to a Ladies Bunco Club for about 25 years.

Barbara enjoyed crocheting blankets and creating Swedish weave blankets, which she loved gifting to family members.

Barbara loved all her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed helping them, whenever she had a chance.

Barbara truly lived a life full of Service and LOVE! She will be missed by all of us.

A Rosary and Mass will be held for Barbara at St. Jerome Catholic Church on July 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM. The celebrant will be Father Rodolfo Caballero. THIS WILL BE A PRIVATE SERVICE WITH HER CHILDREN ONLY. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
