

Gordon & Pauline Tate welcomed their daughter Barbara Ann into their lives on August 19, 1932. She was born in her aunt's home off Wyoming St. in San Antonio TX. The doctor was assisted by another aunt as the midwife. She left this earth and the people she loved to join loved ones gone before her on September 15, 2021. She lived in Corpus Christi until age 12, then relocated to the ranch in Frio County. Her love for the ranch, cattle, horses, and nature were profound.
She graduated from Devine High School in 1949 then attended Incarnate Word College and graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Barbara completed her clinical nursing at Santa Rosa Hospital. Her professional experience included the State Hospital, Pediatrics, Veterans Hospital and Family Practice Medicine.
She met the love of her life, Robert Hoffmann on a blind date in 1951. They were married from 1953, until his passing in 2012. She dedicated her life to her husband and raising her girls. She enjoyed numerous years spending time with her grandchildren. They attended Community United Church of Christ in which she actively participated. Later, the Holy Spirit led them to Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She's preceded in death by her husband Robert Hoffmann, her parents, Gordon & Pauline Tate and her brother Harold Tate. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Holly Cochran and Tracy Jacobsen; grandchildren Nichole Keiser, Kyle Keiser, Aaron & Randa Jacobsen; and great-granddaughters Anastasia and Norah Keiser. Visitation will be Monday, September 27th from 11am to 8pm at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave.
