It is with great sadness the family of Augustin M. Luna announces the passing of their brother and son on April 29, 2018 at the age of 75. Augustin (Tin) will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Cristina of 51 years; son, David Luna (Gina) and grandsons, Edward and Mathew Luna. Augustin is preceded in death by his father, Gerardo S. Luna and survived by his mother, Isabel M. Luna; brothers, Jerry, Mando (Laura); sisters, Christine L. Montenegro (Gus), Elia L. Worthy (Gary), Norma Guyewski, Stella Luna-Valadez (Pete IV), Penny Gonzales (Charles), and many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Augustin attended Seguin High School in 1962 and then graduated from San Antonio Barber School in 1964. Augustin was a professional barber at Randolph AFB from 1965-1967. He then served his country in the United States Army. He was a highly decorated recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service during the Vietnam War. He retired from Civil Service in 2004. His passion was music, traveling, playing his guitar, and spending lots of time with his grandchildren. Augustin made many friends everywhere he went and his fondest memories was with his friends and childhood friends from Seguin.
The family will receive guests at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm, a Celebration of Life service will be at 6:30pm. A visitation will be on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 10-12pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. A reception will follow the visitation in Sunset Northwest hospitality suite. Military Honors will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 9:15am.
