Ann "Punkin" Herron passed away on July 12, 2011 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 64. She was born in San Antonio, TX and was one of 8 siblings. She married Army Sgt. Stephen Herron in 1970 and enjoyed traveling to many locations in the United States and Germany. She later had a successful business partnership with her husband. Punkin was a compassionate and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved family gatherings, Christmas decorating, preparing holiday meals, visiting Las Vegas, and was famous for her baked goods. She particularly cherished time with her grandchildren and pampering her dogs Phoenix and Chloe.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years 1SG Stephen Herron, US Army (Ret.) of San Antonio, daughter RaeAnn Pieper and husband Jim of San Antonio, son Stephen Herron II and Stefanie of San Antonio, granddaughter Kinley Herron of San Antonio, grandson Brian Pieper of San Antonio, three brothers, three sisters, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one brother and her daughter LeAnn.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
