It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Armando Javier Medina, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and a guiding light to all who knew him. Armando departed from this world on November 15,2023 leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and enduring devotion.
Armando was born on February 13, 1959 in Laredo TX and spent his life embodying the principles of kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. His love for God was the cornerstone of his existence, evident in the way he lived his life, always extending a helping hand to those in need.
In 1985, Armando embarked on the journey of marriage with his first wife, Carmen, with whom he shared the joys and challenges of life. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Armando A and Mario Medina. Armando's approach to fatherhood was deeply rooted in his Christian beliefs, imparting not only worldly wisdom but also the spiritual guidance that would shape the lives of his sons. His guidance was a source of strength, and the bond forged with his sons was unbreakable. Tragically, Carmen passed away.
Later in life, Armando found love once again and married Juanita Medina. Together, they built a life rooted in love, trust, and God. As a husband, Armando demonstrated the true meaning of a Christian marriage, where love was patient, kind, and unconditional. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of true love, and Juanita was his constant companion and source of strength.
As a grandfather, Armando's love extended to the next generation, Nicolas and Lucas Medina. He relished the role of a doting grandfather, creating cherished memories and imparting his values to his grandchildren with joy and laughter.
Armando's caring nature touched the lives of many. He was known for his generosity and selflessness, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His acts of kindness resonated within his community, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to experience his warmth.
Armando is survived by his beloved wife, Juanita Medina, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing in the joys and challenges of life. He is also survived by his sons, Armando A and Mario Medina, whose lives were shaped by the unwavering love of their devoted father.
A celebration of Armando's life will be held on December 8, 2023 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home (6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238). Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and a service in remembrance of Him will begin at 12:00pm. After the service we will travel to Fort Sam Houston Cemetery where he will be buried with his Army honors at 2:00pm. Afterwards there will be a meal at Armando's favorite restaurant, Chuy's, at the 8438 TX-151, San Antonio, TX 78245 location.
May Armando rest in the eternal embrace of God's love, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his love, kindness, and enduring spirit.
