Armando “Ray” Coronado, age 87, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 26, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas. He leaves his wife Virginia of 63 years. Armando Coronado will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son and brother. He was a husband and father that showed true love and commitment to family every day of his life. He loved to dance the night away and loved to join in with the Mariachis. We will always remember his spirit and energy and his favorite terms of endearment were “Corazon” and “Reyna.”
Dad,for all the times you were by our side, to help and support us, to celebrate our successes, to understand our problems and accept our defeats.
He was known for his positive energy and jovial spirit that brought many smiles to everyone. The memories will forever be with us. We’ll always remember the special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace you always gave us. You being here for Mom and us through good and bad times, no matter what. We’ll always remember you Dad because they’ll never be another one to replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you. Ray will be dearly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Aurora Coronado, his brother, Manuel Coronado and his daughter, Martha Martinez. He is survived by his wife Virginia Coronado; daughters, Teresa Montalvo and husband Ed, Patricia Coronado Garza, Connie Garcia and husband John, Monica Gonzalez and husband Richard; son-in-law, David Martinez; grandchildren, Christopher Montalvo, Melissa and Anthony Martinez, Justin (Elizabeth), Patrick and Amanda Garza, Isabella and Patrick Garcia, Ricky, Troy and Madalyn Gonzalez; sister, Socorro Saavedra and Carmen Gutierrez; brothers, Martin Coronado and Richard Coronado; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road on Tuesday May 26, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. TO 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral mass will at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road. Interment will be at a later date.
Due to the COVD-19, mask will be required and social distance observed.
