My father, Antonio M. Romo, who we knew as Deddy, was born in Madisonville, Texas on January 16, 1932. He was the son of Gonzalo and Andrea Romo. He grew up in San Antonio, Texas and was one of six children. My father has nine children, Josie, Hope, Tony, Norma, Rick, Angie, Maryann, Abel, and Rachel. He also has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Hortencia Campos. My father supported his family through hard work and generosity. He was a giving man and was always willing to take in those in need. Many saw him like a father. His sense of humor was contagious and he loved to share his music through his guitar. His passion and love for music has been passed on to his children and grandchildren. Even in his last days, my father never gave up his will to work and support his family. Before passing away, my father received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Antonio M. Romo lived a long, happy, and healthy life. A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers and a Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
