Anthony is preceded in death by both of his parents, Antonio and Esperanza Meade. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Veronica (Gomez) Meade; his sons Curtis and Justin Meade; his daughter-in-law Lindsay Meade; his siblings Elsie Long, Elisa Meade, Henry Meade and Albert Meade; his grandchildren Pierce, Mason and Emilee Meade; his loving family including Robert Long, Mary Meade, Lori Meade, Anna Gomez, Hugo Gomez, Hector Gomez and many nephews, nieces, godchildren, cousins and friends.
Tony was born, raised and a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Tx. As a child, he had many great memories of spending summers in Mexico riding horses with his siblings, his mother’s cooking and working alongside his father as a skilled plumber. He was a varsity football letterman at Edison High School and graduated in 1967. Shortly after, he met his wife Veronica and they were married in 1974. In 1976, Tony started his own commercial construction business, Accent Specialties, Inc. He worked very hard and was very blessed to become a very successful businessman during the company’s 35-year existence.
An avid fisherman and hunter, Tony spent many weekends on his boat fishing or at the deer lease hunting with family and friends. He also enjoyed supporting his local sports teams as a long time season ticket holder to both the San Antonio Spurs and UTSA Road Runners. When it came to vacations, Tony’s usually included a casino stop. From Las Vegas to Coushatta, he made many great memories and won a few jackpots along the way! He also enjoyed playing music. Either a classic tune on his guitar, a reminder of when he was in a band growing up, or an original tune on the piano, he loved to serenade his wife and pass the time.
Tony was a caring, selfless man whose biggest goal in life was for both of his children to graduate from college, which was accomplished when both earned degrees from UTSA. He was continually thinking about his family and friends. He had a wonderful life and positively impacted the lives of those around him. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. We love you!
