Angela S. Hernandez

She was preceded in death by Ramon, her husband of 64 years; daughter, Maria de los Angeles Cerda; and grandson, Edward Cerda.

She will be remembered for many things, of which include her love of cooking & baking for others, her unique sense of humor, love of singing and dancing & most of all her strength & courage. Better known as “Grammy” she loved to play volleyball & baseball as well as entertain her grandkids. She enjoyed playing her harmonica & serenading her family w/ Las Mananitas for their birthdays. Sunday afternoons were filled with heavenly aromas coming from the kitchen and sounds of family gathering together.

She leaves behind a treasure of wonderful memories to those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her 6 children, Maria del Rosario Lopez, Ramon Hernandez, Graciela Kinra, Maria I. Olivares, Maria Leticia Hernandez and Gabriel Hernandez; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6pm, Thursday, February 2, 2012 with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 2pm, Friday, February 3, 2012 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 S. Santa Rosa, San Antonio, TX 78204. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their “special thanks” to the dedicated people of Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care they were given.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
