He was born in Junction, Texas on January 15, 1921 to Victoriano and Maria Menchaca (née Rodriguez). Andres married the love of his life, Rosa (née Chapa) on January 14, 1951 and he was always thankful for their marriage of 48 years.
Andres worked a Civil Servant employed by the former Kelly Air Force Base.
Andres is preceded in death by his parents, Victoriano & Maria; his lovely wife and soul mate, Rosa; his brothers Jesus (Chuy) and Apolonio (Polo); and his sister, Estella (Tela). He is survived by his son Ruben Mario, married to Blanca (née Chapa) and his daughter Linda Sue married to Raul Ramirez; and his baby brother Vicente Menchaca. Andres has four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
A visitation for Andres will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78205 with a rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 11:30 AM for a funeral mass on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1710 Clower Dr, San Antonio, Texas 78201 with a committal service following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
