Alice Ewald Powers

Alice Ewald Powers went to be with Jesus in heaven on June 22, 2017 at the age of 85. She fought the good fight against Alzheimer’s for the past several years. We are comforted by the love of Jesus Christ and his mercifully bringing Alice home.

Alice was a native of San Antonio, living for a short time in Dallas, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada. She attended Edison High School. She was married briefly to Bryan Powers, the union of which produced their only child Charley. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse helping so many people in her life with a servant’s heart. Alice loved music…it touched her soul.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents August Ewald and Ruth (Oma) Ewald Dunn, sisters Edith H. (Phinney) Dunn and Emmajean Beard. She is survived by her son Charles (Charley) B. Powers, Jr., his wife Mary, and their son Luke Daniel Powers of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, father-in-law Bill Dunn of San Antonio, also a multitude of nieces and nephews and their spouses and children. Funeral services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association. Life is short and precious please remember to hug the ones you love.
