Alice Castro Ibarra, born on December 30, 1933 in San Antonio, TX, was called to be with our Lord on May 24, 2016 at the age of 82. Mrs. Ibarra was a High School graduate of Sidney Lanier and member of the National Honor Society. She ensured the education of her four children through St. James the Apostle, Providence and Central Catholic high schools. Alice also ensured that her grandchildren attended St. James the Apostle Catholic school. She educated Cynthia Ibarra through St, Mary’s University. Alice also worked in the banking industry at the beginning of her career. She went on to work with Alamo Concessions where she traveled extensively, worked hard but created good memories. Alice also loved Fiesta and loved to set up food booths and meet people. Alice enjoyed meeting people, had extremely sharp wit and never once hesitated in giving you her opinion. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony S. Ibarra; parents Mariano and Aurora Martinez; siblings, Liliy Flores, Johnny Martinez and Olga Salinas. She is survived by her children, Cindi Ibarra, Anthony S. Ibarra Jr. (Amy), Norma Garcia (Juan) and Alice Zertuche (Juan); grandchildren, Shawn Tenorio, Lauren Danielle Ibarra, Lilandra Ibarra, Michael Garcia and Christopher Zertuche; sibling Dora Valdez, Mario Martinez, Margie Padilla, Robert Martinez and Sandra Ramos. The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Trevion Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 8:30 a.m. for 9:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St James the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow on Ft. San Houston National Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Juan Zertuche, Christopher Zertuche, Mario Martinez, Robert Martinez, Mike Rivera, Michael Garcia, Shawn Tenorio and Lilandra Ibarra.
